This might just be my favorite cake so far. I had waaaayyyy too much fun making it. I got to do so much sugar art! This was for a 5th wedding anniversary and the couple had gotten married on the beach. Just the two of them celebrating so it was a "mini cake" (6 inch round).
I have an older digital camera and these pictures just don't do the coral justice. It was soooo pretty and sparkly.
Can you see the "realistic" seashells made out of marbleized fondant? So much fun to make!
Close up of the gumpaste starfish. I hate that you can't really even see the pearl dust.
Close up of the sand dollar and other shells. There's also some "tumbled sea glass."
